One of my favourite comic series of all time. This series really increased my love of history. Like the Tintin reread I'm doing I will also endeavour to read all the Asterix books once again. Unlike Tintin the early Asterix comics are much more accessible. There is no blatant racism. It's just a fun little adventure. The first book is just an introduction to the main characters and their abilities. I can't wait to get through the rest of the series.

Ah! Asterix and his picturesque little village in Gaul with its stubborn yet hilarious bunch of residents gave me such a heavy dose of enjoyment during my high school vacation days. I have read the physical version of this book many times and loved it every time. But it's a comic book, how can it be a good audiobook. I don't know who wrote the script for the audiobook, but whoever did was amazing. I would say that she is almost on the same level as the creators, René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo.(Perhaps now is where I should explain why it only gets four stars.
