I have to admit, I was never really interested in Mencheres before. Honestly, he came across as OLD, and unsexy. But Im so glad that Jeaniene Frost proved me wrong. 4.5 StarsI really enjoyed this, more then I expected, Mencheres didn't seem to have much hero appeal in the other books, but I was wrong. He was brilliant, both smoking hot and a genuinely decent and loving person. Kira was also great, she was likable as she was loyal and warmhearted which was just what Mencheres needed. Although the Night Huntress series is still in my opnion a lot better, Cat and Bones are just a brilliant couple. But I preferred this much more then FDoC and will be one I read

I'm actually really surprised by my rating for this one. I enjoyed it quite a bit, despite - or possibly because of - Mencheres being one of my least favorite characters from the NH series.
